James A. Sissons

After attending U.T.S., Jim Sissons obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto in 1965. He graduated from Osgoode Hall in 1968 and was called to the Bar in 1970. Jim joined the firm in 1972.

Jim's primary area of practice is wills, estates administration, and tax planning. He is also active in areas of residential and recreational real estate. He is frequently consulted by U.S. attorneys and clients concerning the purchase and sale of recreational properties in Canada.

Jim is a twenty-five year member of the Wills and Trust section of the Canadian Bar Association (Ontario) and is a frequent speaker on wills and estates and related tax matters. Clients appreciate his strong business background which gives him a clear understanding of their goals.

Jim is well known for his community involvement. He was charter President of the Rotary Club Niagara Falls, Sunrise, and past Director of the Chamber of Commerce, the Visitor and Convention Bureau, and the United Way.

When not in the office, Jim golfs and curls competitively. He resides in Niagara Falls with his wife Nancy, and summers at their cottage on Lake Erie. Jim and Nancy have two daughters, Deb, who is married and is finding great satisfaction as a Chiropractor in Windsor and Heather, who is pursuing a career in law.
